Five Real Madrid Players Who Could Make A Premier League Transfer, Including Two Arsenal Targets

We take a look at the Real Madrid players who could make a Premier League move this summer.

With James Rodriguez having joined the plethora of big names at Real Madrid, it seems as though a number of players may be surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu this summer.

Carlo Ancelotti’s high quality squad means that there is the potential for Premier League clubs to mine some top class signings from the players not wanted in the Spanish capital, with a number having been linked with moves to England this summer.

We’ve taken a look at five Real players who could be heading to a Premier League club near you this summer.

Isco

Young Spanish playmaker Isco was given a huge build-up when he arrived at the Bernabeu from Malaga last summer, but it hasn’t really happened for the 22 year-old during his debut season with the European champions.

The arrival of Rodriguez means that he is likely to be pushed further down the pecking order, with rumours already surfacing that Manchester City are ready to revive their interest in a player that Manuel Pellegrini attempted to bring to the club twelve months ago.

The City of Manchester Stadium is not the only appropriate destination for Isco, however, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United also on the hunt for attacking reinforcements.

Iker Casillas

The death knell of Real Madrid and Spain legend Iker Casillas’ La Liga career could be about to sound, with Real Madrid set to put Keylor Navas alongside Diego Lopez as the goalkeepers ahead of Casillas in the pecking order.

This may open the door for Arsenal, who are known to be admirers of the Spaniard – but reports suggest that they will only sign the experienced custodian if he rips up his contract at the Bernabeu.

Sami Khedira

Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly been fighting it out for German World Cup winner Sami Khedira
this summer, who looks set to leave Real with just one year remaining on his contract.

Khedira enjoyed a fine World Cup for Joachim Low’s side, despite missing the final, and looks to be over the injury that disrupted his 2013/14 campaign.

Raphael Varane

Despite being rated as one of the world’s finest young central defenders, Raphael Varane may be set for a move away from the Bernabeu as he struggles to establish himself as an unquestioned name on the teamsheet.

Jose Mourinho is a long term admirer of the France international and reports have linked him with a swoop to bring the former Lens star to Stamford Bridge.

Angel di Maria

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal seems to be on the hunt for another marquee signing, despite having completed deals for Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, with Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria emerging as a genuine option for the Old Trafford club.

The Argentine international had a fine season for the club last term but is another player whose position has come under threat from the arrival of James Rodriguez.
