Van Gaal eyes reunion with Dutch World Cup winger

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal could be keen on signing one of the most impressive youngsters from his Netherlands squad at this summer’s World Cup.

According to the Metro, Memphis Depay has become a top target for the Red Devils this summer, with the club known to be in the market for new signings on the flanks.

It is thought that the talented 20-year-old, currently of PSV, would be loaned out for a season before becoming a full member of the United first-team.

Atletico Madrid linked with United misfit

Atletico Madrid could be set to join the chase for unsettled Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, who is also attracting interest from Inter Milan, according to the Daily Express.

The 26-year-old Mexican has struggled to make the desired impact at Old Trafford in recent seasons, finding himself behind the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck in the club’s pecking order.

Atletico are keen to bring in another new striker to help fill the void left by Chelsea new-boy Diego Costa, though they have already snapped up Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Munich.

Juventus star issues United blow

Juventus and Chile midfielder has been quoted as saying that he will NOT be joining Manchester United this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The South American star has been one of the most in-demand players in Europe this summer, also attracting interest from Liverpool, but in another blow for United, it seems that he is not interested in a move to Old Trafford.

Still, he may yet be Premier League-bound after admitting he is uncertain over his long-term future with current club Juventus.

“Can I say I will remain with Juve? I don’t know,” he said. “I’ll talk to (manager, Massimiliano) Allegri on Monday and then we will see. I haven’t spoken with Allegri or any of my team-mates yet, but I’m not going to Manchester.”

United set sights on Arsenal target

Manchester United may be about to switch their focus to the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira after giving up on signing Arturo Vidal, according to Fichajes.net.

The Red Devils are keen on the German World Cup winner, who has also been linked with Arsenal for much of this summer, and may be readying an offer of around £19m to snap him up this summer.

Khedira is looking likely to leave the Bernabeu before the start of the season as his contract with the club will be up this time next year, allowing him to move for free.

AS Monaco lead chase for United target

A long-time target for Manchester United, Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan could be on his way to AS Monaco to replace the departing James Rodriguez, according to talkSPORT.

The Argentine attacker has been one of the stand-out performers in Portuguese football during his time at the Stadium of Light, and could now be set for a big-money move to Ligue 1.

United are on the lookout for wingers this summer, but have seemingly not made Gaitan one of their top targets in this particular transfer window.
