Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers could be close to finalising a superb swoop for four new signings in deals worth a combined fee of around £93.5m, CaughtOffside understands.

The Reds have been busy in the transfer market so far this summer, bringing in the likes of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic, but their latest four purchases look set to be the best of the lot with some world class stars arriving at Anfield.

Having come so close to winning the Premier League title last season, the Liverpool board have given Rodgers plenty of money to work with this summer to help make up for Luis Suarez’s £75m move to Barcelona, in order to help the club close that gap on their rivals and finally bring home the title next year.

With two of the four deals all but done, two of the stand-out South American stars from this summer’s World Cup are also among Liverpool’s targets, and is it understood that significant progress has been made to bring them in.

4) Dejan Lovren (Southampton – £20m)

After a great first season in the Premier League for Southampton, Croatian centre-back Dejan Lovren is all set to be announced as a Liverpool player, with a medical reportedly scheduled for today and a £20m fee agreed with the Saints. The 24-year-old will certainly be a quality addition to Liverpool’s inconsistent backline, and will join former team-mates Lambert and Lallana at Anfield.

3) Loic Remy (Queens Park Rangers – £8.5m)

Having activated his release clause of just £8.5m, Liverpool look to have secured the signing of prolific French striker Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers. The 27-year-old should combine well with Daniel Sturridge and Lambert to help make up for the loss of Suarez’s goals upfront, having shown great ability in front of goal in his time in England so far. Arsenal were also known to be interested, but Liverpool have won the race for his signature and landed themselves a bargain signing upfront.

2) Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina – £23m)

A superbly skillful and entertaining winger, Juan Cuadrado could be on his way to Merseyside as Liverpool have had a bid accepted by Fiorentina. The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the 26-year-old as well this summer, particularly after his fine displays for Colombia at the World Cup, but Liverpool have held positive talks with his representatives and it looks as though they could beat off some stern competition for his signature in a £23m move that could go down as one of the signings of the summer.

1) Arturo Vidal (Juventus – £42m)

Another ambitious deal that has been rumoured to be in the works, Liverpool could be set to bring in one of the best midfielders in the world with the signing of Juventus and Chile star Arturo Vidal. The 27-year-old has been instrumental in Juve’s recent dominance in Serie A, with the club winning three titles in a row since he joined the club. Also a target for the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid, Vidal was also a stand-out performer at this summer’s World Cup with Chile, and now seems enthusiastic about a move to Anfield. Having reportedly ruled out a move to Old Trafford, Vidal will certainly prove popular with Reds fans, and his arrival will certainly lay down a marker as the club look to re-establish themselves as a force in English and European football.
