The 27 year old had previously been looking for as much as £150k a week but will now accept £134k, though that may still prove a price Arsenal are unwilling to meet.
The German international has just a year to run on his current contract and if he can’t secure a move away from the Bernabeu this summer then he is willing to hold out and leave on a free transfer next summer, thus helping to secure a hefty deal from any prospective suitor.
Arsene Wenger is known to be keen on securing a holding midfielder but could elect to switch his attentions to Morgan Schneiderlin, who would presumably be a cheaper option.
AS Monaco and Chelsea are also said to be keen on Khedira, who seems likely to leave Real Madrid this summer as the Spanish giants will not want to see the former Stuttgart man leave for nothing, indeed having forked out a massive sum to sign Colombian James Rodriguez the La Liga side would be especially keen to balance the books through player sales.
