Manchester United still in Di Maria hunt

Manchester United could still be in with a chance of signing Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, with the Daily Mail reporting that his proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain has stalled.

The Argentine star’s move to Ligue 1 is far from done, according to the club’s manager Laurent Blanc, with PSG unable to spend big on signing the player due to Financial Fair Play regulations.

The French champions may try to sign the 26-year-old on a season-long loan with a view to signing him permanently next summer, but United are keeping an eye on the situation as Louis van Gaal remains a big fan of the player.

Inter Milan to offer United swap deal

Inter Milan are hoping to entice Manchester United to sell Mexican striker Javier Hernandez with the offer of signing Fredy Guarin in return, according to the Daily Star.

The Italian giants have been linked with a number of new signings upfront this summer, whilst United are also thought to be admirers of Colombian midfielder Guarin.

This swap deal could suit both parties well, though United continue to be linked with other big-name signings in the midfield department, such as Juventus star Arturo Vidal.

Atletico also keen on United striker

Inter Milan could face competition for Hernandez’s signature, however, with Fichajes.net reporting that the goal-poacher remains a target for Atletico Madrid.

The 26-year-old is seen as a good potential replacement for Diego Costa upfront, with the Spanish centre-forward completing a £32m move to Chelsea earlier in the summer.

Atletico have already signed Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Munich, but are still keeping tabs on Hernandez’s situation at Old Trafford, with the player thought to be keen on leaving for first-team football.

World Cup star linked with Old Trafford switch

Manchester United are reportedly leading the chase for Fiorentina and Colombia winger Juan Cuadrado, according to Spanish source Fichajes.net.

The 26-year-old, who caught the eye of several top clubs with his displays in Serie A last season, as well as at this summer’s World Cup, has also been targeted by Barcelona in this transfer window.

However, it is claimed that United are closer to reaching an agreement with Fiorentina at the moment, and may beat Barca to the signature of the talented wide-man.

Van Gaal keeping tabs on Roma playmaker

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal admits he is keeping an eye on the progress of Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman, who is close to returning from a long-term injury.

According to Sky Sports, the Dutchman plans to assess Strootman’s performances when he makes his return to action, as he remains a fan of his fellow countryman.

Strootman impressed in his first season with Roma, having also been linked with a move to Old Trafford in last year’s transfer window.
