Manchester United in big-money bid for Serie A star

Manchester United have made a big-money bid of around £47m for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to Italian source Gazetta dello Sport.

The 27-year-old has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford after impressing in Serie A and with the Chilean national team, though he has also been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.

Still, United have made progress in their efforts to sign the player, with Juventus now set to consider this latest bid from the Red Devils.

Real Madrid winger wants Old Trafford move

Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria has issued a ‘come-and-get-me’ plea to Manchester United after talks over a move to Paris Saint-Germain broke down, according to the Daily Star.

It had looked like PSG were winning the race to sign the Argentine international, who is keen to leave the Bernabeu after feeling like he has become undervalued by his club.

There appears to be little room for Di Maria in Carlo Ancelotti’s side, with Real signing James Rodriguez from AS Monaco this summer.

PSG still confident of beating United to Argentine

In a conflicting story, however, Spanish publication Marca claims that Angel Di Maria’s £51m move to Paris Saint-Germain could be announced sometime this week.

The 26-year-old will become the latest big-money signing by the Ligue 1 giants, who have used their considerable resources to bring in world class names such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani in recent times.

United remain interested in the World Cup finalist, but it seems increasingly likely that they will miss out on their man here as he makes the move to France.

Roma slap hefty price tag on United target

Roma have slapped an incredible £79m asking price on the head of their Dutch midfield playmaker Kevin Strootman, according to the Sun.

The Netherlands international was linked with Manchester United last summer before moving to Roma instead, and has emerged as a target for the club’s new manager Louis van Gaal as well.

However, the Italian giants have made it perfectly clear that they have no plans to sell the talented 24-year-old, who remains a key part of their first-team plans.

Red Devils misfit not in van Gaal plans

Manchester United look likely to offload unsettled winger Wilfried Zaha this summer, despite words of encourgament from manager Louis van Gaal, according to the Daily Express.

The youngster was seen as an exciting signing by the Red Devils when he moved from Crystal Palace last summer, but has failed to make an impact at Old Trafford, whilst also having an underwhelming loan spell with Cardiff City in the second half of last season.

Van Gaal has been quoted as saying he will give Zaha a chance in pre-season, but it is still expected that the player does not have a future with United.
