Everton are closing in on a deal to sign highly rated Belgian starlet David Henen according to the Daily Mail.

The 18 year old Anderlecht forward, who shares the same agent as imminent Toffees signing Romelu Lukaku, is on trial at the Merseyside club and looks likely to complete a £1.5m move to Goodison Park.

Boss Roberto Martinez has been glowing in his praise of the teenager, stating;

“It is in the process of being completed,”

“He’s a young, talented footballer who represents Belgium in the lower teams, in the under-18s and has had good experience in going to France.

“He is a bright boy and we feel he is something different that we haven’t got in the under-21s so we are hoping he is going to be giving us something different in that group.”

Once the deal is complete Henen will join Everton’s Under 21 squad and may well be some distance from the first team set-up.

Henen has been dubbed the ‘Belgian Cristiano Ronaldo’ and is clearly a player with a great deal of potential.
