Liverpool want Dortmund star to replace Suarez

Liverpool are reportedly keen on the ambitious signing of Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus as a replacement for the departing Luis Suarez, according to Fichajes.net.

The 25-year-old forward is widely regarded as one of the best players in the Bundesliga and even Europe, and has been linked with a host of other top clubs in recent times after his displays for club and country.

Dortmund will no doubt be reluctant to lose the German international, but Liverpool have plenty of money to spend after selling Suarez to Barcelona for £75m, and remain in need of a top quality replacement upfront.

Reds target moves on loan to Southampton

Southampton have won the race for unwanted Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand, who has moved to the St Mary’s Stadium on a season-long loan, according to BBC Sport.

The Blues backup player, who spent last season on loan with Aston Villa, was also linked several times with a move to Liverpool this summer, as Brendan Rodgers continues to search for a new signing at left-back.

However, Southampton have also been looking for a new addition in that part of the pitch after star player Luke Shaw left the club for Manchester United earlier in this transfer window.

Sunderland re-open Borini talks

Sunderland have re-opened talks to sign Liverpool forward Fabio Borini after failing in an attempt to sign him earlier this summer, according to the Daily Express.

The Italian international spent last season on loan at the Stadium of Light, and impressed with Gus Poyet’s side, though he has seemingly not been keen to make a peramenent stay at the club.

Still, he looks unlikely to work his way into Liverpool’s first-team plans anytime soon, and talks could now be back on for the player to move to the Black Cats.

Southampton eye another Liverpool target

Having beaten Liverpool to the signing of Ryan Bertrand, Southampton are now also being linked with a move for another Reds target, Marcos Rojo, according to the Daily Express.

The 24-year-old was a top performer for Argentina at this summer’s World Cup, playing at left-back as his side reached the final of the competition, and he can also operate well as a centre-back.

Southampton are desperate to strengthen their side after losing so many key players this summer, and they have been told that they will have to pay £16m to Sporting Lisbon to sign Rojo.

Reds target wanted by Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid are reportedly stepping up their interest in PSV youngster and Liverpool target Zakaria Bakkali, according to Fichajes.net.

The 18-year-old wonderkid is rated as one of the best up-and-coming talents in Europe at the moment, having impressed in the Eredivisie last season with four goals in 22 appearances for the Eindhoven club.

Liverpool have emerged as contenders to bring the Belgian winger to the Premier League, but he may now be the latest signing by Spanish champions Atletico in this transfer window.
