The 2014-15 Premier League will be greatly enhanced by the return of Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, who re-signed for the Blues after a two-year absence last month.

We have compiled a list of 10 other players who we would love to see follow the Ivorian’s example and come back to England’s top flight.

10. Xabi Alonso

Spanish deep-lying playmaker Alonso, 32, has not been with us since August 2009, when he ended his five-year spell with Liverpool to join Real Madrid.

He has won the Champions League with both clubs, although he missed last season’s final through suspension.

9. Gerard Pique

The Spain defender only made 12 Premier League appearances before Manchester United foolishly sold him to Barcelona for £5m in 2008.

The 27-year-old has gone on to establish himself as one of the finest and classiest centre-backs on the planet. We would love to see wife Shakira in England too!

8. Carlos Tevez

The Argentine striker is the only player to win the Premier League with Manchester United and Manchester City.

When on form, the Juventus star can be unplayable.

7. Paul Pogba

Like Pique, Pogba is another player that Man United fans believe left Old Trafford too early.

The France midfield boss turned down a contract at United and slinked off to Juventus in 2012, having made just three league appearances for the Red Devils.

Pogba has already won two Serie A titles and he was named as the best young player at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

6. Luka Modric

Manchester United and Chelsea have both tried and failed to bring the former Tottenham Hotspur midfield gem back to England.

The Croatia international seems pretty settled at Real Madrid. Shame!

5. Arjen Robben

Chelsea possessed the Dutch winger for three brilliant seasons between 2004 and 2007.

He has since moved to Bayern Munich, via Real Madrid.

Robben, 30, proved at this summer’s World Cup that he is definitely one of the top 10 footballers in the world.

4. Mario Balotelli

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the enigmatic Italian this summer.

It would be great to see Super Mario back in the Premier League, which he lifted with Manchester City in 2012, after setting up Sergio Aguero for a stoppage-time final-day winner against QPR.

3. Luis Suarez

The dirty little biter has only just left us, but we are missing him already.

Seeing Rickie Lambert in a Liverpool shirt brought home just how much weaker the Reds will be this term.

2. Gareth Bale

Bale is the biggest British superstar since David Beckham and we want the former Tottenham hero back!

Saying that, it was brilliant to see him play a star role in the Champions League final for Real in May.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronny is the best footballer on the planet, according to FIFA.

The ex Man United winger, who is a winger no more, has scored 164 goals in 149 La Liga games since swapping Old Trafford for the Bernabeu in an £80m transfer in 2009.
