Here’s how we reckon FIFA 15 will rate some of Manchester United’s top 10 players next term…

10) Shinji Kagawa – 80

The Japanese playmaker has not lived up to his potential since joining United two summers ago, but he’s still a skilful and effective playmaker for his country. We don’t think 80 is too high.

9) Michael Carrick – 80

The long-serving midfield metronome, Carrick was rated at 82 in the last game, but he’s declined in the past year, and could drop by two.

8) Phil Jones – 81

The powerful centre-back is likely to be given heightened responsibility now Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand have departed, and we think 81 is fair for the English international.

7) Luke Shaw – 81

81 seems fair for a player who just £27m, and if he fulfils his potential, this rating will rocket.

6) Danny Welbeck – 82

Welbeck was only rated at 82 in FIFA 14, but his goals, pace, and power mean we’re sure he’ll be marked higher this time around.

5) Ander Herrera – 83

The new £28m signing has yet to win a cap for his country, but has looked superb during pre-season. He can pass, and will help dictate United’s tempo this term.

4) David de Gea – 84

The young Spaniard is excellent, and was voted into the Premier League Team Of The Year in 2012/13 when United last won the title. Once he reaches his potential, he could be one of the highest rated players in the game.

3) Juan Mata – 87

The Spanish playmaker started slowly since becoming United’s record signing in January, but began to settle into his role as the side’s top creative threat towards the end of the term. His ability was never questioned.

2) Wayne Rooney – 87

Rooney is arguably not the truly world-class player he once was, when scoring 30 goals a season was the standard, but deployed in a usually deeper role, he’s still one of the league’s best. 87 reflects this.

1) Robin van Persie – 88

Injuries blighted RVP’s campaign last time out, but his performances at the World Cup, and the fact he’s won two Premier League Golden Boots prove that on his day, there are very few better strikers on the planet.
