10) Mario Goetze (Bayern Munich)

The scorer of the winning goal in this summer’s World Cup final (albeit with his left foot), Mario Goetze could now be ready to really establish himself as one of the world’s best talents. The German playmaker is a superbly talented youngster, and will be hoping to take confidence from his international performances and reach his best form for Bayern Munich next term.

9) Thomas Mueller (Bayern Munich)

A superbly prolific goalscorer, Bayern Munich and Germany star Thomas Mueller confirmed his status as a world class star with his performances at the World Cup this summer. The 24-year-old scored five goals in Brazil, and although he may not be a great entertainer in the same bracket as the likes of Gareth Bale and Arjen Robben, the absence of left footers from this list makes him one of the top ten best in the world.

8) Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Although very capable with either foot, Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is a deadly finisher on his stronger side especially, and has hit some great efforts from outside the box despite being more well known as a penalty area poacher. A true star of the Premier League, Aguero is easily one of the best in the world in a right-footers-only list.

7) Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

New Bayern Munich signing Robert Lewandowski is another great all-rounder, capable of scoring goals with either foot and with his head, and should prove a superb signing for the Bundesliga champions after moving from rivals Borussia Dortmund.

6) Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

A truly outstanding performer from the Premier League last season, Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is known for his tendency to cut in from the left-hand side onto his right foot, and is a superbly entertaining player for doing so. Despite defenders knowing what he will do when he runs with the ball on the left flank, it is surprisingly hard to defend against, hence the Belgian’s great goalscoring record from out wide.

5) Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich)

A key player for Bayern Munich in recent times, Franck Ribery is a world class performer on either flank, whether he plays on his natural side as a more out-and-out winger, or on the left-hand side in a more creative or goalscoring role, with his excellent right foot serving him well in a variety of ways.

4) Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

A powerhouse midfielder, Yaya Toure may owe a great deal to his physical frame, strength and speed, but it would be foolish to ignore his superb technique on his right foot, with the Ivory Coast star scoring some wonderful long-range efforts in his time, combining power and precision to perfection with some wonderful free-kicks and solo efforts. His all-round ability has made Toure one of the best players in the Premier League and certainly among the best in the world at the moment, right footed or not.

3) Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris Saint-Germain)

Another player extremely talented on either foot, Zlatan Ibrahimovic still does most of his magic with his stronger right side. The stylish Swede is one of the great entertainers in the game today, and his performances have helped lift Paris Saint-Germain to a new level since he joined the club from AC Milan in 2012. The tag ‘world class’ may be thrown around a little too easily these days, but Ibrahimovic is truly in the top five in the world at the moment, and makes the top three on this right-footers-only list.

2) Luis Suarez (Barcelona)

Barcelona’s new £75m signing, Luis Suarez has been up there with the best players in the world with his performances for Liverpool and Uruguay in recent times. Capable of doing brilliant things from almost any angle or distance, the prolific striker has a great right foot and will surely continue to enhance his reputation at the Nou Camp.

1) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is a deserving first place on this right-footers list, with his favoured boot certainly providing us with some of the best long-range goals ever seen in recent times. Although the old cliche goes that left-footed players are the ones that possess those sledgehammer shots, Ronaldo’s ability from range on his right side is certainly comparible and among the best seen in the game’s recent history.
