Queens Park Rangers have pulled off a transfer coup by signing Juventus full-back Mauricio Isla on a season-long loan deal.

The Daily Mirror have just announced that the two clubs have reached an agreement and that the deal has been sealed for the 26-year-old, who can operate in midfield as well as at right-back.

Chilean international Isla, who starred for his country at this summers World Cup, is expected to undergo a medical at the west London club on Sunday.

The player has failed to hold down a regular place in the Juventus team since joining the club from domestic rivals Udinese – where he made 127 Serie A appearances during a five year spell – in 2012. He has been capped 47 times by his country, scoring two goals.

Giuseppe Marotta, CEO of Juve, told reporters: “We have reached a deal with QPR for Isla’s loan move. Tomorrow he will have medical with QPR.” Isla had previously attracted interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool.

He is the third addition at Rangers this summer, following on from former England international and ex-Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand, and former Cardiff and Tottenham defender Steven Caulker.
