Midfield:
City already have a number of high class options in the midfield department, but could fit new signings Fernando and Frank Lampard in in a 4-3-3 formation alongside undisputed star Yaya Toure. Lampard can either play in a deeper role, dictating the play, or he can fill in a more advanced position and help take the goals burden off Toure going forward. Fernandinho was superb for Manuel Pellegrini’s side as they won the title last season, but the arrival of two new faces in the middle of the park may see him drop to the substitutes’ bench more often in 2014/15, though there’s no doubt City look like they have some superb depth in this area now.
