Predicted line ups for the clash between Man United and Liverpool in the USA.

With the two Premier League heavyweights set to do battle in the ultra-prestigiuos International Champions cup on Monday evening, we’ve decided to take a closer look at how we expect the two sides to line up.

Manchester United:

United will be missing both Robin Van Persie and Michael Carrick for the clash with Liverpool, and manager Louis Van Gaal is likely to change up his squad once again ahead of the clash at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami.

GK: David de Gea

The Spaniard has been in top form, though doesn’t really have anybody to challenge him for his place.

CB: Chris Smalling

Smalling will likely be on the right side of the three-man defence.

The man of a thousand faces will now be restored into the middle of the defence where he is most comfortable.

CB: Jonny Evans

The Norther Irishman could be in for some added responsibility after some great form last term.

RWB: Ashley Young

Given a chance by LVG, he has flourished somewhat and will be expected to continue.

CM: Tom Cleverley

Fighting for his place, not only in the side, but at the club as well.

CM: Darren Fletcher

Having returned to full fitness the Scot will be hoping to assert himself back into proceedings quickly.

LWB: Luke Shaw

The youngster is already proving to be a shrewd asset and will look to make a big contribution against the Reds.

CAM: Shinji Kagawa

The Japanese playmaker has been given the chance to stake a claim in the side before deciding on his future.

ST: Wayne Rooney

Expected to be the club’s main man next term, he will be hoping to lead by example against his mortal enemies.

ST: Javier Hernandez

Hernandez will be hoping to take any chance he’s given with both hands as his future at the club remains uncertain.

Liverpool

Like United, the Reds will also be missing a few key players as they head into the game. Daniel Sturridge, who, along with Jon Flanagan and Adam Lallana are all out, with the latter even flying back to England to receive treatment for an knock. Lazar Markovic will also miss out.

GK: Simon Mignolet

The Belgian has seen off competition from Reina, but will still be hoping to make a case for himself against United.

RB: Glen Johnson

The England star hopes to hang on to his spot ahead of some more proposed transfer activity.

CB: Kolo Toure

The veteran star will hope to give his credentials a boost with a good showing against United.

CB: Sebastian Coates

The Uruguayan could buy himself some more time at Anfield with a good showing here.

LB: Jack Robinson

Liverpool’s left-back crisis has meant that Rodgers has been forced to try out the youngster.

CM: Steven Gerrard

The Skipper will lead by example as he heads up a midfield trio.

CM: Joe Allen

The Welshman is fit again and will take his place in the Reds’ engine room.

CM: Jordan Henderson

The England star cemented himself as a vital cog in the club’s midfield and will look to go from strength the strength again.

RW: Raheem Sterling

The young forward was a revelation last term and will look to push on further again this term.

LW: Philippe Coutinho

The Brazilian will be looking to force his way into the Selecao this season, and will hope to start with a good showing in pre-season.

ST: Rickie Lambert

The England man will hope to bounce back from his penalty miss against Milan.
