The Top Ten Transfer Deals We Expect To Be Completed Imminently, Including Big Deals For Arsenal And Liverpool

Ten transfer deals expected to go through this week.

With another week of the transfer window set to commence, we take a look at the ten biggest deals that we believe will be completed sooner rather than later.

10. Morgan Schneiderlin – Southampton to Tottenham

The French international was thought to be heading for Arsenal not too long ago, but it now appears that Mauricio Pochettino is keen to pour more misery on his former employers by snapping up the 24-year-old from under Arsene Wenger’s nose.

Reports are now suggesting that Pochettino is so eager to complete a deal quickly that he will now offer up Nacer Chadli in part exchange in the hope of convincing them to allow the player to move on. With the opportunity to add to their dwindling numbers the Saints could look to open talks quickly to save the risk of the offer being of the Belgian international being taken off the table.

9. Wilfried Zaha – Manchester United to West Ham

Despite being given a chance under Louis Van Gaal, Zaha has been told to book his ideas up in pre-season or face the boot. However, with the Dutchman still looking to strengthen in areas that Zaha occupies, a decent offer could see him move on.

With West Ham’s recent interest
confirmed, the chance to return to London could prove too hard to resist for the England under-21 international, and the chance to finally get a good crack at the Premier League will surely appeal.

8. Fernando Torres – Chelsea to Wolfsburg

Having already been spurned in their advances for Romelu Lukaku, the Bundesliga giants are seemingly intent on adding a member of the Chelsea front line to their ranks by turning their attentions to Torres.

Following his continued patchy form in their pre-season campaign, the Blues could be tempted to offload the Spaniard and reinvest the cash elsewhere as they still have a number of irons in the fire as the season approaches. A meeting between the player’s agent and the club’s representatives is scheduled for later this week and a deal could follow closely behind.

7. Sami Khedira – Real Madrid to Arsenal

Having been linked with everyone under the sun since returning to full fitness, the German international now appears to be favourites to join the rest of his international colleagues at Arsenal after Arsene Wenger played it coy when quizzed about his plans for the player last week.

With the need for a true defensive midfield colossus not diminishing, the Gunners could push through with a move for the 27-year-old before any of his competitors decide to get themselves in to gear with a move of their own.

6. Javier Manquillo – Atletico Madrid to Liverpool

The Reds have been in the market for new defensive reinforcements this summer, and after being linked with a host of names they are now apparently close to wrapping up a deal for Atletico Madrid’s Javier Manquillo.

The 20-year-old is reportedly due at Anfield for a medical on Monday afternoon where he will likely put the finishing touches on a deal that will bring him to the club.

5. Angel Di Maria – Real Madrid to Paris Saint Germain

Despite PSG’s move for Di Maria being a flagrant dodging of the Financial Fair Play rules, a deal to sign the Argentine is now likely to go ahead this week after the two club’s agreed a fee.

Joining on loan for an initial fee of €10m, the playmaker will link up with the Spaniards permanently next summer for a further €70m. All hopes Arsenal and Manchester United seemingly had have now vanished unless they can agree a similar sort of fee immediately as Real were thought to be keen on getting the cash up front.

4. Alberto Moreno – Sevilla to Liverpool

Following weeks and weeks of speculation over whether this deal would be done, a £16m fee has been agreed between the two clubs and he will now travel to England to complete the switch this week.

The Reds have endured a tough time of it in the left-back slot recently, and Rodgers is keen to add the young Spaniard to the ranks after being so impressed by his performances in a successful season with Sevilla.

3. Mateo Musacchio – Villarreal to Tottenham

Spurs are continuing talks with the Spanish side over a deal for the Argentine centre-back, with reports growing that the two clubs are close to agreeing a fee of £20m.

The tough Argentine defender has impressed a lot of scouts in recent years. He is not the tallest but reads the game well and has all the hallmarks of former Argentina captain Daniel Passarella, which has appealed to the new manager as he looks to bolster his defence for the coming season.

2. Eliaquim Mangala – FC Porto to Manchester City

Mangala’s move to City has been another transfer story that has bordered on becoming a saga, but it now appears that a £32m deal between the two has been agreed and the transfer will be completed shortly.

However, if and when it is finalised, City chief executive Ferran Soriano has hinted that it will conclude the club’s summer business having landed all their originally intended targets.

1. William Carvalho – Sporting Lisbon to Arsenal

The Gunners are desperate to add a defensive midfielder to the ranks, and as such have turned their attentions toward the Portuguese starlet by making a £24m bid for his services.

The Sporting Lisbon midfielder is said to be on Arsene Wenger’s radar, having been linked with both Manchester United and Chelsea earlier this summer, but the Gunners are looking to make the first move as Wenger is worried about starting the season without a recognised defensive midfielder.
