World Summer Transfer Target XI, With Possible Liverpool & Man United Buys

The best starting XI of players set for big money moves this summer.

Fantasy XI’s are always being banded around, and none more so than during the transfer window. So with that in mind, we have created the best starting XI comprised of players set for big money transfers before the end of the window.

GK: Iker Casillas – Real Madrid

The Spanish World Cup winner has seen his fortunes drop dramatically over the past 18 months, and the time is probably now right for him to move on. Still capable of performing miracles despite his poor showing at the World Cup, he would add an added authority to both Arsenal and Liverpool’s defences after they were both tipped with making a move for him.

RB: Javier Manquillo – Atletico Madrid

The highly-rated full-back may only have made a handful of appearances during Atletico’s title winning campaign but that hasn’t stopped Liverpool from stepping up their interests in signing him. Rumour has it that the club are on the verge of bringing him to Anfield on a two-year deal.

CB: Mats Hummels – Borussia Dortmund

The imposing German centre-back is being eye from everywhere between Manchester to Barcelona as a host of clubs look to compound Borussia’s misery and test their resolve for his signature. However, now that he is a World Cup winner, interested parties can expect to add another zero onto the end of his fee.

CB: Eliaquim Mangala – FC Porto

The young defender has been on the radar of several clubs over the past few months and at various points has supposedly been en route to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City. It now appears that City have won the race, and a £32m deal to bring him to the Etihad could be completed as soon as this week.

LB: Alberto Moreno – Sevilla

Moreno was in electric form for an overachieving Sevilla side last term, helping them to Europa League success and earning himself a call up to Spain’s World Cup squad in the process. Liverpool have reportedly been on the verge of signing him up since the window opened, and after some difficulties it looks as though he will be making his way to Merseyside very soon indeed.

CM: Sami Khedira – Real Madrid

A second World Cup winner takes his place in the centre of midfield, and it’s still amazing to think that Madrid would let him go. However, with just one-year left to run on his current deal, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are all thought to be fighting it out to win his signature.

CM: Arturo Vidal – Juventus

The self proclaimed best centre midfielder in the world has been on the verge of joining Manchester United for weeks now, depending on who you believe, and did his credentials no harm after an exciting World Cup campaign with Chile.

RW: Juan Cuadrado – Fiorentina

The Colombian has been in high demand this summer, and Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all still battling it out for his services. Fiorentina recently sprang to buy his whole rights recently, sparking speculation that the club are getting ready to cash in on him.

LW: Angel Di Maria – Real Madrid

Real Madrid appear to be having the world’s best fire sale this summer, and have made the Argentine winger available. Manchester United had been thought to be favourites to land the player, but it now appears that PSG have displayed their novel way of bending the Financial Fair Play rules to bring him to the French capital.

CAM: Marco Reus – Borussia Dortmund

Poor old Dortmund, no sooner do they establish themselves as a dominant force in European football do the bigger sides come and raid their best talent. Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona have all been linked, and though he has said that he will stay with Dortmund for another year, there is still a chance for one of those clubs to come in and prize him away.

ST: Mario Balotelli – AC Milan

The temperamental Italian has been linked with a return to England after his love affair with Milan went sour. Liverpool have ruled themselves out of the running, but Arsenal could still decide to make a swoop as they look to boost their striking options.
