Real Madrid’s Xabi Alonso could make shock return to Anfield
Despite having been a key part of the Madrid team since joining from Anfield in 2009 head coach Carlo Ancelotti is prepared to axe Alonso this summer, according to the Mirror.
Either the Spain international or Sami Khedira is expected to be sold and whilst the German World Cup winner remains the favourite to leave, that is far from confirmed.
Alonso enjoyed five years of success with the Reds last time around, helping them secure an historic Champions League win in 2005.
