Following a summer of torture in the transfer window, Southampton officially confirmed their squad numbers for the 2014-15 season on Wednesday.

The Saints have lost three players to Liverpool so far, with Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren all moving to Anfield.

Those three stars wore seven, 20 and five respectively last term – all three numbers are currently vacant at St Mary’s.

Meanwhile, the number 23 jersey, which belonged to Luke Shaw before his £27m switch to Manchester United, is also unassigned.

Arsenal new boy Calum Chambers was number 22 at Southampton last season. Again, that number is without an owner right now.

In among all the selling, the Saints have managed to recruit three players this summer.

Winger Dusan Tadic, an £11m signing from FC Twente, will wear number 11, while Chelsea loanee Ryan Bertnand has taken 21.

Former Feyennord striker Graziano Pelle is Southampton’s new number 19.
