With the transfer window now having entered its final month, a number of huge deals have already gone through across Europe this summer. This XI of players are the most expensive to have moved so far in their respective positions, with all fees from Sky Sports.

GK) Jan Oblak (Benfica to Atletico Madrid)

Newly crowned La Liga champions Atletico Madrid spent £12.6m on Benfica goalkeeper Jan Oblak, who arrives at the Vicente Calderon as the replacement for Chelsea loanee Thibaut Courtois.

RB) Mathieu Debuchy (Newcastle United to Arsenal)

Arsenal spent £12m bring in Mathieu Debuchy from Premier League rivals Newcastle United, making him the most expensive right back of the summer.

CB) David Luiz (Chelsea to Paris Saint Germain)

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain surprisingly spent an eye-watering £40m to sign Brazilian defender David Luiz from Chelsea.

CB) Dejan Lovren (Southampton to Liverpool)

Such was Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’ necessity to strengthen his defence, the Reds went out and spent £20m on Croatian centre back Dejan Lovren from Southampton.

LB) Luke Shaw (Southampton to Manchester United)

Another Southampton player to move on was teenage left back Luke Shaw, who was picked up by Manchester United for a huge fee of £27m.

RM) Alexis Sanchez (Barcelona to Arsenal)

Arsenal’s marquee signing of the summer, Arsene Wenger saw fit to splash out £35m on winger Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.

CM) Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona to Chelsea)

In one of the summer’s most controversial deals, former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas joined Premier League rivals Chelsea for £30m from Barcelona.

CM) Ander Herrera (Athletic Bilbao to Manchester United)

Louis van Gaal’s first significant signing as Manchester United manager, Spanish central midfielder Ander Herrera arrived at Old Trafford for £29m from Athletic Bilbao.

LM) James Rodriguez (AS Monaco to Real Madrid)

One of few transfers on this list not to involve a Premier League team, midfielder James Rodriguez’s displays for Colombia at the World Cup were enough to persuade Real Madrid to part with £71m to sign him from AS Monaco.

SC) Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid to Chelsea)

It was always expected that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho would spend big on a centre forward this summer and he certainly did, signing Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid for £32m.

SC) Luis Suarez (Liverpool to Barcelona)

The biggest transfer of the summer saw Liverpool and Uruguay striker sign for La Liga giants Barcelona for a massive £75m.
