Premier League Best XI in 2014/15: 150 Journalists Choose Arsenal And Man United Stars In Their Dream Teams

A starting XI picked by 150 journalists in the UK.

It’s hard to get anybody to agree on anything these days, and starting line ups are probably one of the most common causes for disagreements both in the pub and on the news desk. However, thanks to NixSocial we are able to bring you a team that was voted for by 150 journalists going into the 2014/15 season.

GK: Joe Hart – Manchester City

A bit of a surprise choice given the competition, but he has turned around the shaky form of last season to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s best once again.

LB: Leighton Baines – Everton

Though he may have struggled at the World Cup he provided goals and assists in abundance for the Toffees last term.

CB: Vincent Kompany – Manchester City

No surprises here, the City skipper showed just why he is considered as one of the best centre-backs in the world by leading the club to their second Premier League title.

CB: Laurent Koscielny – Arsenal

The Gunners ace made it into the side ahead of teammate Per Mertesacker, despite having a slightly less that exemplary disciplinary record.

RB: Mathieu Debuchy – Arsenal

The Arsenal new boy has already ousted Bacary Sagna at international level and is now set to push on in his place at the Emirates Stadium.

CM: Yaya Toure – Manchester City

Another City star to make the grade, Toure had an impressive season in front of goal and established himself as a true Premier League tour de force.

CM: Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal

The Welshman saw injuries curtail his fine start to the season last term, he will be hoping to stay clear of that this time around.

CAM: Cesc Fabregas – Chelsea

The former Arsenal star will be hoping to hit the ground running upon his return to the Premier League after a disappointing campaign at Barcelona.

RAM: Alexis Sanchez – Arsenal

The Chilean international has got the whole country excited and the scribes have picked up on this – inserting him onto the right side of an attacking trio behind the strikers.

LAM: Mesut Ozil – Arsenal

The World Cup winner enjoyed a fine debut last term, but is now being tipped to go one further in a stronger Arsenal side.

ST: Robin Van Persie – Manchester United

A surprising choice considering his disappointing season last year, but the World Cup has undoubtedly swung him back in everyone’s favour.
