Manchester United Rumour Roundup: Angel Di Maria And Chelsea Target Part Of £81m Shortlist, Current Star Urged To Leave And Youngster’s Loan Move Close

The biggest stories coming from Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Manchester United to bid club record £50m for Real Madrid’s Angel di Maria

After weeks of speculation the Red Devils finally look ready to splash the cash on the Argentina international, according to the Daily Mail.

The future of the 26-year-old at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu has been cast into doubt following the summer arrival of both Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez.

Paris Saint-Germain have already ruled themselves out of the di Maria chase, claiming that at £50m the South American is too expensive.

United preparing £16m bid for Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo

It could well be a busy final few weeks of the summer transfer window for the 13-time Premier League champions as Rojo is lined up as well in a £16m switch.

The Guardian reports that despite interest from both Chelsea and Southampton in recent times it is the Red Devils that lead the chase for the Argentine.

The 24-year-old is an attractive prospect for new manager Louis van Gaal with his ability to play as both a left-back and in central defence.

Ajax star Daley Blind is also being lined up

Completing the three-man wishlist for United along with the two Argentinians di Maria and Rojo is this versatile Netherlands international, according to the Mirror.

Van Gaal is a big fan of Blind having worked with him for the past two years as part of the Dutch national team.

The 24-year-old is another versatile option with the capabilities to operate at left-back, in central defence, or as a defensive midfielder and he has admitted he could leave the Amsterdam ArenA this summer.

Mexico boss Miguel Herrera urges Javier Hernandez to leave Old Trafford

The striker’s national team manager has admitted that he thinks Hernandez should leave the Red Devils this summer and join Juventus.

The man known as ‘Chicharito’ has fallen behind Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck for a place upfront in recent times and Herrera says the 26-year-old should move on.

“I think [Chicharito] needs to leave. I think [Juventus] would be a good option for him,” the 46-year-old told ESPN.

Wilfried Zaha edges closer to Crystal Palace return

Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has hinted that the South London club could make a move to bring back their academy product on-loan.

Zaha became Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signing as manager in January 2013 upon completing a £15m move, but has since struggled to establish himself at the Theatre of Dreams.

“There’s a sentimental value and I loved Wilf as a kid and he did sensational things for us. I know the fans would like him back and that will play a part, but in the end the manager will decide what we do,” Parish told Sky Sports News.
