Reports from the Metro today have linked Arsenal with an absurd triple swoop for Sami Khedira, Marco Reus and Edinson Cavani before the close of the transfer window.

We don’t entirely expect Arsene Wenger to go through with a move for this trio, but decided to take a look at what the Gunners’ XI might look like if he did – safe to say, it’s pretty impressive!

GK) Wojciech Szczesny

Polish international Szczesny will be hoping to hold off the challenge of David Ospina for his number one shirt.

RB) Mathieu Debuchy

Right back Mathieu Debuchy has arrived from Newcastle United this summer as Wenger’s replacement for the Manchester City bound Bacary Sagna.

CB) Laurent Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny had a fine 2013/14 season and is likely to continue with his partnership alongside big German Per Mertesacker.

CB) Per Mertesacker

Per Mertesacker returns to the Emirates Stadium as a newly crowned World Cup winner and will play alongside Koscielny.

LB) Kieran Gibbs

Young Englishman Kieran Gibbs is starting to show the huge potential that has seen Wenger keep faith in him through a succession of injuries.

CM) Sami Khedira

Khedira would add another World Cup winner as a driving presence in the centre of the Arsenal midfield.

CM) Aaron Ramsey

Welsh international Ramsey was superb during the first half of last season and is expected to be a key player for the Gunners this year.

ARM) Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean winger has been Arsenal’s big marquee signing of the summer, joining from Barcelona for a fee in excess of £30m.

ACM) Mesut Ozil

Much is expected of playmaker Mesut Ozil, with the German having had a full season to adjust to life in the Premier League.

ALM) Marco Reus

Borussia Dortmund forward Reus is still recovering from an injury suffered in a pre-World Cup friendly against Armenia, but would be a stunning capture for Wenger once he is fully fit.

SC) Edinson Cavani

World class PSG star would replace Olivier Giroud as the lone focal point of the Arsenal attack.
