Chelsea’s Unbeatable XI If Jose Mourinho Signs Arsenal Target & £62m Serie A Duo

Awesome-looking Blues team if Mourinho lands top targets.

With Chelsea already looking like big favourites for the Premier League title, it could be argued that they barely need any more strengthening this summer, but there looks to be every chance of more big-name arrivals before the end of the transfer window.

Jose Mourinho has already spent big money on the likes of Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis, but a further three stars could be heading to Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks as the Blues build potentially one of the best squads in world football.

Assuming Chelsea can beat off competition for their top transfer targets, here’s how there starting XI could look in 2014/15 with the addition of three more world class stars.

Goalkeeper and defence:

With Thibaut Courtois expected to take over from Petr Cech as number one goalkeeper for Chelsea, the young Belgian should get plenty of protection this season with a superb-looking defence in front of him.

The Blues may already have John Terry and Gary Cahill, but it could be that AS Roma defender Mehdi Benatia could join for around £30m and add another world class option at centre-back. Along with new left-back Filipe Luis, who has arrived from Atletico Madrid, this looks like a back four to be reckoned with this season.

Midfield:

With Real Madrid lowering their asking price to just £8m for Sami Khedira, the German international could be one of the bargains of the summer. Arsenal are known to be interested, but Chelsea have also been linked with the 27-year-old, who was a favourite of Jose Mourinho’s during his time in charge at the Bernabeu.

Although the Blues already have the excellent Ramires and Nemanja Matic to partner new signing Cesc Fabregas, there’s no doubt that Khedira lining up alongside the Spaniard looks an extremely exciting prospect for Chelsea.

Attack:

With Andre Schurrle possibly on his way to Atletico Madrid, Chelsea could still sign another winger this summer and are being tipped to rival Manchester United for £32m-rated Fiorentina star Juan Cuadrado. The 26-year-old was in dazzling form in Serie A last season and then at the World Cup finals for Colombia, and he would make as top class addition to the Blues’ immense attacking lineup.

With Oscar and Eden Hazard alongside him, and new striker Diego Costa to aim at in the box, Cuadrado could really shine in this Chelsea team and surely make them far and away the strongest team in the country this season.
