GK: Alan McGregor – Hull City

The Scottish international kept a well earned clean sheet for the Tigers, shutting out a resurgent QPR frontline.

LB: Patrick Van Aanholt – Sunderland

The Dutchman showed that he is ready for the Premier League with a stout performance despite WBA netting twice to earn a draw.

CB: Martin Skrtel – Liverpool

The centre-back showed that Brendan Rodgers won’t have any defensive worries if he continues to perform the way he did against the Saints.

CB: James Chester – Hull City

Chester got himself on the scoresheet against QPR, and helped protect McGregor to shut the Londoners out.

RB: Gael Clichy – Manchester City

Clichy’s dynamism down the right caused Newcastle all manner of problems, both going forward and tracking back in equal measure despite being on his weaker side.

LM: Raheem Sterling – Liverpool

Sterling showed that he is intending to carry on from where he left off last term by scoring and creating an assist in Liverpool’s victory over Southampton.

CM: Gylfi-Sigurdsson – Swansea City

The Icelandic star notched his side’s winner against Manchester United, and was generally a thorn in Louis Van Gaal’s side all afternoon.

CM: Sebastian Larsson – Sunderland

Larsson ran the show from start to finish against Albion and got on the score sheet in the process.

RM: Alexis Sanchez – Arsenal

The Chilean capped off his first Premier League appearance by helping the Gunners claim all three points with an assist. More to come!

ST: Saido Berahino – West Bromwich Albion

The young striker got both of his side’s goals against Sunderland as they fought back to claim a 2-2 draw.

ST: Wayne Rooney – Manchester United

Off the mark nice and early this season, but couldn’t prevent his side from sliding to a 2-1 home defeat to Swansea.
