AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli enters talks with Liverpool

It looks as if the former Manchester City star could be returning to the Premier League after all as discussions begin to sign Balotelli, according to BBC Sport.

The Reds had been hopeful of securing the Italy international on-loan, but with Milan having turned that down a permanent deal is now being mulled over.

The 24-year-old left the Etihad Stadium to return to Serie A in January 2013 after two-and-a-half years with City.

However, a £12m loan bid is also being lined up for Radamel Falcao

The Merseysiders do have a backup plan though as AS Monaco ace Falcao is also on the radar of manager Brendan Rodgers.

RMC reports that it would cost £12m to land the Colombia international on a loan deal after the forward expressed the desire to leave the Stade Louis II.

Falcao became Moanco’s club record signing last summer after completing a £50m switch to the Principality.

Former Reds midfielder Xabi Alonso could make shock move to Manchester United

The Spaniard may risk his cult hero status at Anfield if what the Daily Express is reporting is correct and the 32-year-old heads to Old Trafford.

New United boss Louis van Gaal is keen on bringing in a holding midfielder this summer.

Alonso left Merseyside for Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 and has since won La Liga, the Copa del Rey twice and the Champions League.

Philippe Coutinho says he’s found a family at Anfield

The attacking midfielder seems totally at ease now in English football as he describes his current club as a family.

Coutinho has been in fine form over the past 12 months and at 22-years-old there is still much expected from this talented Brazilian.

“I found a family when I first arrived here. This club really is like a family and this helped me feel very comfortable when I first came to Liverpool,” the South American told the club’s website.

New £20m signing Lazar Markovic aiming for title and Champions League success

Having been among eight new signings so far this summer by Rodgers, the 20-year-old has spoken out about his ambitions with the Reds.

Markovic is not aiming small and the Serbia international is looking for trophy success as soon as possible.

“Liverpool and our fans deserve the return of the most important trophy. With the Premier League and the Champions League, we’ll be going for it on both fronts,” the attacking midfielder told the club’s website.
