Everyone has had their say on the opening weekend of the Premier League and those players who impressed, particularly those making their debuts for new clubs and looking to impress.

Thus far, however, it has all been conjecture – but we now have the ten statistical Premier League debutants, with all facts and figures courtesy of WhoScored.com:

10) Rio Ferdinand (Queens Park Rangers)

A surprise inclusion, considering that the former Manchester United man was at fault for James Chester’s winning Hull City goal at Loftus Road, new QPR signing Rio Ferdinand squeezes into the list thanks to an 89% pass accuracy and making six tackles.

9) Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Big money Chelsea striker Diego Costa got off the mark for his new club with a powerful finish in their victory at Turf Moor, and he makes it onto the list in 9th place thanks to that goal and also having made one key pass.

8) Dejan Lovren (Liverpool)

Croatian international centre back Dejan Lovren seemed shaky on his debut for Liverpool against the club from whom he was signed, Southampton, but statistically he was impressive, making 11 clearances and four interceptions.

7) Javier Manquillo (Liverpool)

Another new Liverpool signing who looked solid in their 2-1 victory over Southampton was young Atletico Madrid loanee Javier Manquillo, who made six tackles and four interceptions from right back.

6) Andrew Robertson (Hull City)

Highly rated young Hull City defender Andrew Robertson, signed from Dundee United this summer, made an impressive debut for Steve Bruce’s side during their 1-0 victory at Loftus Road, making four tackles and one crucial clearance off the line for the Tigers.

5) Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

To the naked eye, big money Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez underwhelmed slightly on his Arsenal debut in their last gasp victory over Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium, but he still made six key passes and notched up one assist on his Gunners bow.

4) Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur)

Young Tottenham Hotspur centre back Eric Dier’s debut at West Ham United was particularly notable for his composed last minute goal that settled a tight match, but the former Sporting Lisbon man also had an 88.6% pass completion rate.

3) Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea City)

Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson enjoyed a fantastic second debut for Swansea City as they stunned Louis van Gaal and Manchester United at Old Trafford, with the former Tottenham midfielder assisting his side’s opening goal before settle the match with the winning goal.

2) Patrick van Aanholt (Sunderland)

Left back Patrick van Aanholt signed for Sunderland on a permanent deal this summer after years of leaving Chelsea on loan and already seems to be making himself at home under Gus Poyet’s management, notching up one assist and eight interceptions as the Black Cats salvaged a draw at West Bromwich Albion.

It may come as not surprise that playmaker Cesc Fabregas was the most impressive statistical debutant after his superb first half display for the Blues in their victory of Burnley, as the Spaniard controlled the game with 106 touches of the ball and made two assists.
