Mario Balotelli set to become a Liverpool player on Monday

The AC Milan striker is on the verge of completing a somewhat surprising £16m switch to Anfield.

Balotelli was at Melwood on Friday to complete a medical and then flew back to Italy on Saturday ahead of the move.

The 24-year-old will finalise the transfer after his new club play one of his former ones Manchester City on Monday, reports the Liverpool Echo.
