After a summer in which United have persistently felt that Juventus have been seeking to manufacture a market for the Chilean – with a £34m asking price they have always considered too high, but after the draw with Sunderland the club are prepared to spend to fix the problem.
United could use the Italian club’s interest in striker Javier Hernandez, 26, to help secure a deal for Vidal, according to the Daily Express.
The Mexican has been told he is free to leave Old Trafford this season and Juve have a known interest in the player, and United are now hoping to use that to lure Vidal away from the Serie A champions.
Manchester United will follow up their move for Angel Di Maria by signing Netherlands utility player Daley Blind, 24, from Ajax for £18m in the next few days, The Sun reports.
