Another week of Premier League football has been and gone and there were some fine performances as always from the English top tier.

Here is the CaughtOffside Team of the Week.

GK – Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea

Has been trusted as the No.1 under Jose Mourinho and based on his performance against Leicester City, Petr Cech won’t be playing anytime soon as Courtois made a string of world-class saves to deny the Foxes.

RB – Eric Dier, Tottenham Hotspur

It’s been an impressive start to life at Spurs for this young defender, who looks much more assured at right-back than in the centre and has marked both his league games with a goal so far.

CB – Paul McShane, Hull City

A dominant display from the central defender as Hull had to struggle with the dismissal of James Chester and played a big part in the Tigers earning a point against Stoke City.

CB – Jose Fonte, Southampton

It was a captain’s performance from the new skipper at St Mary’s as a combination of the back four and goalkeeper Fraser Forster kept West Bromwich Albion at bay at St Mary’s.

LB – Danny Rose, Tottenham Hotspur

Another Tottenham full-back now and during a dismal day for QPR at White Hart Lane the Englishman put in a brilliant display that could see new signing Ben Davies on the bench for a while longer.

RM – Erik Lamela, Tottenham Hotspur

One of the main tasks for new manager Mauricio Pochettino was getting the best out of this fellow Argentine and club record signing and it looked to be working as Lamela provided two assists in a 4-0 win.

CM – Jack Rodwell, Sunderland

The midfielder finally ended his Manchester City nightmare this summer with a £10m switch to the Stadium of Light and scored the equaliser against Manchester United on Sunday.

CM – Gareth Barry, Everton

Has continued where he left off last season after making his move to Goodison Park from the Citizens permanent and against Arsenal the 33-year-old looked like exactly what Arsene Wenger needs in his own team.

LM – Dusan Tadic, Southampton

Looks to be a great signing for the club and has helped ease the pressure of losing so many first team stars this summer with another fine performance on the wing.

ST – Emmanuel Adebayor, Tottenham Hotspur

Completing a team dominated by Spurs stars is a striker who although has been accused of being lazy in the past was full of running against the Hoops and deserved his goal.

ST – Stevan Jovetic, Manchester City

After a frustrating firs year in English football in 2013/14 the forward showed Liverpool exactly what he is capable of on Monday night with a brace in an impressive 3-1 victory over Brendan Rodgers’ side.
