Arsenal have made contact with Paris Saint-Germain over the possible signing of highly-rated teenage midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to L’Equipe.

The Gunners are one of a number of clubs to have been linked with the talented 19-year-old this summer, and it is now thought that they are leading the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma in the race for his signature after meeting with PSG officials at the Uefa Champions League draw on Thursday.

Arsenal are known to be in the market for a new signing in midfield in this transfer window, with the likes of Sami Khedira of Real Madrid and William Carvalho of Sporting Lisbon also previously mentioned as top targets for Arsene Wenger in that position.

With moves for those players seemingly failing to move forward, it could be that Arsenal will now prioritise a move to sign Rabiot before the transfer deadline, with recent reports suggesting that the player had rejected a new contract at the Parc des Princes due to wanting more regular first-team football.

Rabiot has not always been a regular starter for PSG due to the world class players on their books, but he remains one of the most highly regarded youngsters in Ligue 1 and could prove a useful signing for Arsenal.
