RB) Mathieu Debuchy moves from Newcastle to Arsenal for £12 million
Arsenal signed Debuchy as a replacement for Bacary Sagna, who moved to Manchester City at the beginning of the summer. While City paid nothing for Sagna, the Gunners have paid £12 million for Debuchy, a player who probably isn’t as good as Sagna.
At Newcastle, Debuchy didn’t really set the world alight and is already 29. Surely the Gunners could have got a better price for a player who won’t be at the top of his game for much longer.
