Flick through the pages below to read our full list of ratings for Manchester United’s performance against Burnley in their Premier League clash. Angel di Maria impressed on his debut in a 0-0 draw.

GK) David de Gea – 7

Forced into several decent saves, especially early on, and played his part in United avoiding embarrassment.

RWB) Antonio Valencia – 6

Full of running and put in several dangerous crosses.

CB) Phil Jones – 6

A solid performance, had less to worry him and the game wore on and Burnley tired.

CB) Jonny Evans – 6

A much improved display following on from his MK Dons horror show, dealt well with Danny Ings.

CB) Tyler Blackett – 7

The most assured performance yet from the young defender, who justified his selection for the England under-21 side.

LWB) Ashley Young – 5

Dealt okay with the Burnley attacking effort, but offered little going forward.

CM) Darren Fletcher – 6

Steady in the holding midfield role, but struggled to help create chances.

CM) Juan Mata – 4

Was very quiet before being withdrawn with a couple of minutes to go with a possible injury – disappointing.

CM) Angel di Maria – 7

Showed more than the odd touch of class on his debut, a promising start from the Argentine.

ST) Wayne Rooney – 5

Cut a frustrated figure, slamming the turf after missing one headed opportunity.

ST) Robin van Persie – 6

Forced one excellent save from Tom Heaton and came as close to anyone as breaking the deadlock.

Manager: Louis van Gaal – 5

His changes made very little difference to the game, and his team struggled to create chances against a newly promoted team. No end product.

Subs:

1) Anderson – 5 – Had very little influence on the game, despite being given 20 minutes.

2) Danny Welbeck – 5 – Could be a final Manchester United appearance.

3) Adnan Januzaj – 4 – Little time to make a difference after replacing the injured Mata.
