Manchester United to sign Daley Blind and Nigel de Jong

On Friday the Red Devils announced they had agreed a £14m fee for Ajax’s Blind and they still want to lane fellow Netherlands international de Jong from AC Milan as well, according to the Daily Star.

The team have started poorly under new manager Louis van Gaal and £131.7m has already been spent on new players to try and improve their fortunes.

So far Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Angel di Maria have all arrived at Old Trafford and Blind is on his way once personal terms are agreed and a medical has been completed.

Six players could also be sold by United as well

There are a number of players who’s days at the Theatre of Dreams appear to be numbered with no fewer than six strongly linked with a move away.

Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Marouane Fellaini, Javier Hernandez, Shinji Kagawa and Anders Lindegaard could all be sold before the transfer window closes tomorrow, reports the Daily Star.

Van Gaal has been tasked with clearing out the dead wood in his new squad and there are a number of players who have been in poor form for some time.

Adnan Januzaj fears he could be forced out of the club

The 19-year-old thinks he may have played his last game for the Red Devils as new players could force the youngster out of the club.

Following the British record £59.7m acquisition of di Maria the Belgium international fears he may be surplus to requirements under van Gaal, according to the Mirror.

Januzaj broke into the first team under David Moyes, but has yet to truly prove he is going to be a top-class player.

Real Madrid enter the race to sign Javier Hernandez

The future of the Mexico international at United is in serious doubt and now Madrid have entered the chase for the man known as ‘Chicharito,’ reports the Daily Mail.

Hernandez has fallen down the pecking order under van Gaal and sees captain Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck all ahead of him for a place in the starting XI.

The forward joined the club in the summer of 2011 and has since scored 59 goals in 154 appearances for the 13-time Premier League champions.

Club legend Paul Scholes unconvinced by Blind

The former midfielder – who now works as a pundit for BT Sport – has raised his concerns about the Dutchman and whether he is what the club needs.

United are set to sign Blind from the Amsterdam ArenA in a deal thought to be worth about £14m, but Scholes has doubts over the 24-year-old’s capabilities.

“The only place we can seem to get him into the team is in central midfield. He’s a very good footballer but is he the answer?” the 39-year-old was quoted by the Mirror.
