(Picture) Former Chelsea Star Fernando Torres Heads Up Incredible Free AC Milan Starting XI

Italian giants can name starting XI that cost them absolutely nothing.

Upon completing the two-year loan of Fernando Torres, AC Milan freed themselves up to name a very credible looking starting XI that cost them nothing in terms of transfer fees.

With Financial Fair Play coming in, everybody has to be careful with who they spend their money on, but Milan have gone crazy for a free deal.

It does represent, however, a shrewd rebuilding tactic by the club, who are looking to get themselves back to the summit of the Italian league following a disappointing campaign last season, and Filippo Inzaghi will now have a talented line up to work with this time around.

GK: Diego Lopez

Joined Milan on a free from Real Madrid this summer so the European champions could free up room for Keylor Navas.

LB: Pablo Armero

The Colombian World Cup star joined on loan from Udinese for the season earlier in August.

CB: Alex

Signed this summer on a free transfer upon the expiration of his deal with Paris Saint Germain.

CB: Philippe Mexes

Joined on a free from Roma back in 2011, but has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.

RB: Cristian Zaccardo

The 32-year-old arrived from Parma last summer, but made little impact on the Milan squad during their tough season.

DM: Michael Essien

Essien arrived from Chelsea during the January transfer window after injuries and loan spells with Real Madrid put him out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

CM: Riccardo Montolivo

Montolivo joined Milan on a free deal from Fiorentina back in 2012 and has now risen to become the club’s captain.

CM: Sulley Muntari

Muntari crossed Milan when he came from rivals Inter in 2012, though a short stop off in Sunderland ensued first.

LWF: Keisuke Honda

Honda wound down his contract with CSKA Moscow so he could join Milan back in January, though he has yet to display his best form.

RWF: Jeremy Menez

The Frenchman made his return to Serie A this summer after he was released by PSG.

ST: Fernando Torres

The latest free star to join the club, he will be looking to resurrect his career at the San Siro following a torrid time at Stamford Bridge.
