With a £12m loan deal for Radamel Falcao to join Manchester United from AS Monaco all but confirmed, here’s a look at ten things Red Devils fans should know about their latest addition…

1) Stating the obvious, he’s really good – Falcao has been linked with some of the world’s biggest clubs this summer, with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal and Juventus all thought to have been chasing him at some point.

2) Falcao currently has a record of precisely 200 career goals in club football, which have come in just 305 appearances for River Plate, Porto, Atletico Madrid and Monaco.

3) The 28-year-old is a Colombian international and has 20 goals in 51 games, but was one of the more high-profile absentees from this summer’s World Cup through injury.

4) Falcao scored 52 La Liga goals in just two seasons with Atletico Madrid – only Barcelona and Real Madrid stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo scored more in that time.

5) During this time, the South American joined an elite list of players to score five goals in a single game in the Spanish top flight, in a superb performance against Deportivo.
