Cristiano Ronaldo would like to return to Manchester United

The Real Madrid forward has admitted that one day he would like to return to the club that established him as the best player in the world.

Ronaldo broke the world record transfer fee when he left Old Trafford in 2009 for £80m, but could well come back in the near future.

“Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day,” the 29-year-old was quoted by the Daily Mail.

A £60m bid is being lined up next summer for another former player in Paul Pogba

The Red Devils are also keen on bringing another ex-player back to the Theatre of Dreams as a bid for Juventus midfielder Pogba is lined up, according to the Daily Express.

The France international left the 13-time Premier League champions in 2012 on a free transfer, but has since become recognised as one of the best players in the world.

Pogba enters the final year of his current contract in 2015 and therefore Juve could be required to cash in if they don’t negotiate a new deal.

United failed in late bid to sign wonderkid from FC Barcelona

There was a late bid submitted for teenager Adama Traore during the summer transfer window, but the club are prepared to make another offer in January.

As talkSPORT reports new manager Louis van Gaal is a keen admirer of the 18-year-old and will look to bring him to Manchester at the earliest opportunity.

Traore arrived at the Nou Camp as an eight-year-old and made his debut in the first team in November aged 17.

Robin van Persie has welcomed the competition of Radamel Falcao’s arrival

Despite the fact the Colombian will be a direct rival of van Persie’s for a place in attack the 31-year-old has welcomed the challenge.

Falcao joined the club on transfer deadline day on a one year loan deal from AS Monaco and will be looking to make an instant impact.

“I welcome his arrival, he makes us better. At a top club you should always go for the best, which also fits my philosophy,” van Persie was quoted by the Daily Star.

Club legend backs new captain Wayne Rooney to maintain the soul of the team

There has been some that feel the side have sold out by allowing academy products such as Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck to leave and be replaced by foreign stars.

Yet former goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has said that the newly appointed skipper will be the one who keeps the soul of the club alive.

“He has got it [a can-do attitude] and with a Manchester heart as well. I cannot praise Wayne Rooney enough,” the Dane was quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
