The Premier League has always been quite quick to dole out the big payments, whether it be for new players or simply convincing current stars to stay put, the English top flight has never been short of a buck or two. It is worth noting that nobody other than the club an d the player knows what each player is making per-week/per-month/per-year, but these numbers are based on what is widely reported in the press.

10. Eden Hazard – Chelsea
Earning: £185,000 per-week
The Belgian star has been worth his healthy weekly pay cheque after bouncing back from a shaky first season to display some strong form on the left hand side of Chelsea’s midfield.
9. David Silva – Manchester City
Earning: £200,000 per-week
Signing a new deal last term as a reward for his excellent last season, the Spanish attacker has been one of City’s stand out performers on their march to the title. He will be expected to justify the rise by doing it again this time around.

The Spanish international had to be tempted away from the Spanish capital this summer after firing Atletico to an unprecedented La Liga title. He has already began to justify the epic price tag as well as the weekly pay packet by banging in the goals as the Blues look to mount a fresh title challenge of their own.

Earning: £200,000 per-week
Another new recruit from a heavy summer spending spree, and his wage packet is as big to match his fee. The former Arsenal star is commanding the kind of money he made at Barcelona, and the Blues have been more than happy to pay it up.
6. Yaya Toure – Manchester City
Earning: £200,000 per-week
Scoring 20 goals from a central midfield position is no easy feat, and in doing so he fired Man City to the title and established himself as the Premier League’s best midfielder of the current age.
5. Sergio Aguero – Manchester City
Earning: £210,000 per-week
Possibly the best striker in the Premier League now that Luis Suarez has moved on. City will be desperate for him to stay fit so he can fire the club back to the title and justify the massive wage they are shelling out on him.
4. Robin Van Persie – Manchester United
Earning: £220,000 per-week
The Dutchman is one of United’s top earners, though he has seen his paycheque slip down the pecking order thanks to one or two new arrivals.

Earning: £280,000
Having set the British transfer record he has made himself at home amongst the rest of the side’s highest earners. However, he will likely need some time to grow accustomed to Premier League football and will not immediately be able to justify the kind of money he is on.
