Valdes will sign for the Reds next month…
Legendary Spanish stopper Victor Valdes will sign his contract with Liverpool next month, reports the club’s website.
The keeper will not cost the Reds a thing as he’s currently out of contract having run down his deal with Barcelona last term.
New signing shines for Belgium…
Divock Origi, the man signed by Liverpool from Lille this summer and then loaned straight back out, put in an excellent performance versus Australia for the Belgium in Wednesday night’s 2-0 friendly win.

Henderson raves over his exceptional teammate…
Raheem Sterling is a truly special player, his club and country teammate Jordan Henderson told Liverpool’s website.
“His football brain is not as young as 19. He is really clever in his positioning and he drives with the ball. He is outstanding and hopefully he can keep on improving,” Henderson said.
“He plays with no fear, which is important, he just wants to get on the ball, run at people and make things happen.”
Both Henderson and Sterling should start for England away to Switzerland on Monday night.
Steven Gerrard craved the Champions League…
“When you watch the Champions League and you’re not involved there’s jealousy and envy seeing other players play on the big stage and that Champions League music,” said Gerrard, who will be competing in the tournament for the first time since 2009.
“Because of the experiences I’ve had and gained over the years, I was so desperate to taste it again, even if it was just one more time.”
Xabi Alonso left Spain because of an affair…
Legendary footballer and ex-Liverpool star Xabi Alonso left Real Madrid to join Bayern Munich in the summer because of an affair with singer ‘Russian Red’, claims Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo.
Alonso’s wife apparently issued an ultimatum to the star, forcing him to leave Madrid for pastures new.
Alonso joined Pep Guardiola’s side in the final days of the transfer window for £5m. Russian Red’s last album featured a song entitled ‘Xabier’, although she has not confirmed whether Alonso is the subject of it.
