Maintains a decent rating despite last seasons difficulties. He is yet to play for United this season due to injury, and will be keen to return and justify his continued presence at the club.

8) Ander Herrera – 81

One of United’s new signings, the Spaniard looked impressive in pre-season before picking up a knock in his Premier League debut. He needs time to grow and adjust to life in England.

7) Antonio Valencia – 82

Another surprisingly well-liked player in terms of his rating. A decent player for United over the last few years, but more because of his versatility than his outright ability.

6) David de Gea – 84

United’s Spanish stopper continues to improve, and it’s no surprise to see him so high up in the team’s player ratings. He could soon be number one for his country, as well as his club.

5) Juan Mata – 85

Linked with a move away from the club following the rush of summer arrivals, but still one of the club’s finest talents according to FIFA. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Spaniard.

4) Angel di Maria – 86

United’s new record signing comes in at number four following his £59.7m move from Real Madrid. It will come as little surprise to fans that he is the first of four attacking players left to come.

3) Wayne Rooney – 86

United’s captain places third with the same rating as Di Maria – that despite his mixed reviews since taking over the armband for both club and country.

2) Robin van Persie – 88

He might not be guaranteed his spot in the team, but coming in second place is the man that almost singlehandedly won United the Premier League title 18 months ago. Can he rediscover his top form?

1) Radamel Falcao – 88

United’s new loan signing completed the list. Renowned as one of the world’s best strikers, the Colombian’s rating is actually the same as Van Persie’s. It will be interesting to see how Louis van Gaal balances his three forwards over the course of this season.
