5) Xherdan Shaqiri
Switzerland’s most devastating and famous player, Shaqiri is only 22-years-old, but has already won a Champions League and a Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich. The playmaker is short, stocky and very powerful, and can fizz shots in on goal from outside the area with either foot. He bagged a hat-trick against Honduras at the World Cup, and was the subject of a failed summer bid from Liverpool.
4) Josip Drmic
The striker bagged 16 goals in the Bundesliga last season for Nurnberg, earning himself a summer move to Bayer Leverkusen. He’s only 21-years-old, and prides himself on his pace and clever movement in the opposition penalty box.
3) Ricardo Rodriguez
The left-back provides Switzerland with an exceptional bombarding presence up the left flank. Offensively, he’s superb, and provides consistently telling crosses thanks to his superb left foot. He does occasionally neglect his defensive duties, however.
2) Granit Xhaka
Xhaka was once rated as one of the most talented youngsters in Europe, and while he hasn’t developed like Shaqiri, he arguably has just as much talent. Still only 21, Xhaka is cool in possession, and possesses exceptional vision, with which he can spot runs and feed teammates through on goal.
1) Valentin Stocker
Stocker plays wide, and loves to dribble past opponents. His pace forces defences to drop deeper than they perhaps would like to, and he’s capable of cutting inside and shooting on goal or beating his man down the outside.
