10) Victor Valdes (Free Agent / Barcelona to Liverpool)

If the veteran goalkeeper has not already proved his fitness and joined Liverpool as a free agent prior to the transfer window, expect the deal to go through in January.

9) Virgil van Dijk (Celtic to Arsenal)

Arsenal need another centre-back to provide cover for the likes of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker, the wantaway 23-year-old could be the ideal candidate.

8) Matija Nastasic (Manchester City to Arsenal)

The young Serbian is surplus to requirements with the Premier League champions, and is likely to demand a move come January. A move to Arsenal is a possibility, as is a switch to Serie A.

7) Adrien Rabiot (PSG to Roma)

Rabiot’s out of contract in the summer, and the French side will look to cash in on the young midfielder while they can. Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the teenager.

6) Zakari Bakkali (PSV to the Premier League)

The teenager is one of the most exciting young prospects in world football, prompting Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United to all be interested in acquiring his signature.

5) Glen Johnson (Liverpool to Juventus)

Liverpool have a wealth of full-back options following the summer arrivals of Javier Manquillo and Alberto Moreno, and the Italian giants are desperate for a new right-sided defender.

4) Sami Khedira (Real Madrid to Arsenal)

This will be Madrid’s last chance to sell the German and make some money before his contract expires next summer. The Spanish giants desire to sell, coupled with the Gunners need for a holding player could finally force through this long talked about move.

3) Juan Mata (Manchester United to Juventus)

The Red Devils have little need for the Spaniard, who has been only somewhat effective since joining the club from Chelsea in January. He is likely to be sacrificed to allow room for other attacking options.

2) Petr Cech (Chelsea to Real Madrid)

If the Czech goalkeeper fails to win back the number one spot at Chelsea by January, he will surely decide it’s time to move on. With Iker Casillas struggling at Madrid, a move to Spain is probably more appealing than travelling across London to join Queens Park Rangers.

1) Kevin Strootman (Roma to Manchester United)

A player Louis van Gaal knows well from his time as manager of the Netherlands. The United boss believes Strootman will be the perfect fit in his new-look midfield, playing in a holding role in place of, or alongside Daley Blind depending on the formation.
