Theo Walcott, who has been out since the very start of the year following an injury he picked up against Tottenham, could be back available in just a couple of weeks, the Arsenal official website has reported.

“We’re not setting specific comeback matches, but I’m just pleased it’s hopefully now only a matter of weeks before I’ll be back playing,” he said.

“There may be one or two under-21s matches I’ll be involved in first. I’m just looking forward to getting out there and playing again.”

With the rapid winger back available, Arsene Wenger may have a difficult job in fitting him back into a first-choice starting XI…

Here’s how he might go about it, selecting a 4-2-3-1 formation, which ables him to select his best attacking players.

GK) Wojciech Szczesny

It doesn’t look like David Ospina will be stealing the no.1 jersey of the Pole anytime soon…

DR) Mathieu Debuchy

The French summer signing provides an attacking threat up the right.

DL) Nacho Monreal/Kieran Gibbs

There isn’t much to choose between the two left-backs, although Gibbs has been suffering with an injury recently.

DC) Per Mertesacker

The powerful German has young summer signing Calum Chambers breathing down his neck…

DC) Laurent Koscielny

Kosicleny’s just turned 29, and is in his prime years as a centre-back.

MC) Mikel Arteta

Arsene Wenger likes his club-captain to provide the defensive stability to the midfield. Although his inclusion may mean Jack Wilshere misses out in a strongest XI, if Walcott is to earn a starting place.

MC) Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal’s best player last season, Ramsey surely earns an automatic spot in Arsenal’s starting lineup…

AMR) Theo Walcott

The Englishman provides raw pace from the right-hand side, as well as goals and assists. Before his injury last term, he was playing exceptionally, and will hope to earn himself a post back in the England side as well.

AMC) Mesut Ozil

The German playmaker is best used centrally, although Wenger sometimes players him on the left when Arsenal are deploying a 4-3-3.

AML) Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean summer signing can play up top on his own, but following Danny Welbeck’s arrival, he could play in his preferred role, wide in a front three.

FC) Danny Welbeck

The Englishman bagged two for his country earlier this week, and with Olivier Giroud expected to be out until the new year, he’s likely to be given the pivotal centre-forward role he desires.
