Chelsea captain John Terry sends message of support to Raheem Sterling
Terry has said that despite the 19-year-old’s slight frame he can intimidate defences and needs to carry on doing so for the good of the England national team.
The Blues skipper retired from international football in 2012 and believes Sterling could well be the future for the country and any potential success it may have.
“Raheem’s strong for such a young boy. Very slight but really strong. He was the difference [against Switzerland] and every time he got the ball he wanted to do something,” Terry told Sky Sports.
