10. Tim Krul, Newcastle United

Achieved global fame at the 2014 World Cup by coming off the bench to perform penalty shootout heroics for Netherlands against Costa Rica, but the Dutchman is also a fine No.1 at St James’ Park in his own right.

9. Brad Guzan, Aston Villa

With the Villains having only conceded once in their three league games so far this term the capabilities of this American are clearly on show and Guzan follows in a long line of impressive stoppers from the USA.

8. Wojciech Szczesny, Arsenal

The days of the 24-year-old being considered a liability between the sticks are now gone and Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has been proven right by putting his faith in the Poland international.

7. Petr Cech, Chelsea

May no longer be the first choice at Stamford Bridge, but this 32-year-old is still a top-class ‘keeper and holds the record for most Premier League clean-sheets in history.

6. Joe Hart, Manchester City

After a slight blip for the Citizens last term, the England international has once again established himself as the No.1 for both club and country and continues to look like a safe pair of hands.

5. Tim Howard, Everton

An elder statesman compared to others on this list at 35-years-old, but the USA international shows no signs of letting up just yet and has been one of the most consistent figures in the league in recent years.

4. Asmir Begovic, Stoke City

It is still somewhat surprising that no bigger side has snapped up this Bosnian as he is clearly a fine stopper and one who could probably fit in on the biggest stage.

3. David de Gea, Manchester United

When he first joined the club in 2010 as a lanky 20-year-old de Gea looked nervous ans shaky, but since then he has developed into quite probably the future No.1 for Spain.

2. Hugo Lloris, Tottenham Hotspur

The very definition of a sweeper-keeper this 27-year-old is also the captain of France and a player who has brought a whole new dimension and style to White Hart Lane.

1. Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea

Yet top of the pile is actually the youngest name on this list, but with the 22-year-old Courtois winning La Liga ‘keeper of the year twice in the past three seasons he deserves his place at the top.
