Read on to see five reasons why the Red Devil’s manager should stick with Robin van Persie…

5) Understanding

Robin van Persie has already developed a good understanding with Wayne Rooney and the rest of the squad, while Falcao has yet to make an appearance.

4) Adaptation Period

Falcao could take time to adapt to the pace of the Premier League, whereas van Persie is already adapted to the league, not only with United but from his time at Arsenal as well.

3) Lethal Finishing

Falcao certainly can’t be faulted for his finishing, but van Persie is far and away one of the most lethal marksmen in the Premier League, so nothing would be gained there by dropping the Dutchman.

2) Loyalty

The 31-year-old has done a fantastic job for United since joining, and has also performed well for van Gaal in the national side. Does he really deserve to be dropped…?

1) Team Disruption

We have seen countless times before that players can often take time to gel with each other. With the huge number of new signings United have made this summer, including Angel di Maria, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, it could be dangerous to throw them all into the mix at once. Van Gaal doesn’t have the option to rest some of the new signings due to injuries, but Falcao is one player that he could integrate slowly.
