Ronaldo has publicly expressed his desire to return to Manchester one day and the Red Devils will tempt him back with a bumper wage packet.

The 29-year-old currently earns £290,000-a-week at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, but according to the Daily Express that would be increased to £300,000-a-week if he moves.

Madrid to publicly state Ronaldo is not for sale though

With speculation linking the current Ballon d’Or holder with his former side and Chelsea, Los Blancos want to stamp it out quickly.

The Independent reports that the reigning European champions will issue a hands-off warning for their star player.

Ronaldo has been at the Bernabeu since 2009 and has helped them win La Liga, two Copa del Reys and the Champions League.

AS Roma say Red Devils target Kevin Strootman is not for sale

The Netherlands international has long been linked with United, with Sir Alex Ferguson initially showing interest and now Louis van Gaal has picked that up.

Strootman is currently sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury, but a January move was being lined up – yet Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini says the 24-year-old is not for sale.

“We want to keep him, he is our point of strength. We hope to see him back in the field with all his powers. He played an exemplary role last season,” Sabatini was quoted by Sky Sports.

Adnan Januzaj insists he’s happy despite all the new arrivals

Over the summer United signed six new players for a combined total of £151.7m and this has seen several of the old guard cast out.

One of those was predicted to be Januzaj, who now has to compete withe the likes of Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao – among others – but the 19-year-old says he is happy.

“I saw some reports saying I was unhappy. That couldn’t be further from the truth,” the Belgium international was quoted by the Mirror.

Tom Cleverley says his days at Old Trafford are over

Having come through the youth system at the Theatre of Dreams and establishing himself in the first team, the midfielder has now admitted his time at the club is over.

Cleverley was sent out on-loan to Aston Villa on transfer deadline day with a view to that move becoming permanent if he impresses manager Paul Lambert.

“If I’m honest I don’t think I’d play for the club again,” the 25-year-old was quoted by the Telegraph.
