10) West Ham United

In 10th place is West Ham United, who remain popular despite the club sticking with the largely disliked manager Sam Allardyce for another year. West Ham have managed an average attendance of 34,942 this season, ahead of the likes of Aston Villa and Southampton. With a total capacity of 35,016, that means Upton Park is always around 99.8% full, which is certainly impressive for one of the smaller teams in the English top flight. Hopefully the fans will soon be rewarded for their loyalty with some more entertaining attacking football!

9) Tottenham Hotspur

Despite failing again to bring in Champions League football, Tottenham Hotspur still keep their loyal fanbase in, with an average attendance of 36,119 – the 9th highest in the Premier League. Although some way behind their north London neighbours Arsenal, Spurs are still one of the most well supported clubs in the land.

8) Everton

It’s always a great atmosphere down at Goodison Park, and Everton fans will be flocking down to their stadium more than ever this season after some highly promising and entertaining displays last season under Roberto Martinez. Currently with the 8th highest attendance in the Premier League, the Toffees have brought in an average of 39,446 fans per game this season.

7) Chelsea

Despite being top of the Premier League table and big favourites to win the title this season, Chelsea are in a surprisingly low 7th place here with an average attendance of just 41,604 fans per home game. The Blues do not have the largest home ground in the world, with Stamford Bridge only fitting in 41,841 – some way off their main rivals in overall capacity, but the fans who do get in certainly can’t complain!

6) Sunderland

Sunderland’s loyal fanbase sees them come up in 6th place, with the impressive Stadium of Light bringing in an average of 43,217 fans per game so far this season, though with a total capacity of 49,000, they could still fill more seats, with just 88.2% of the places currently being taken in each match.

5) Liverpool

One of the finest and most historic stadia in English football, Liverpool’s Anfield is no surprise as among the highest attendances in the Premier League, even if it is a little smaller than some of their rivals’ grounds. So far this season the Reds have been greeted by an average of 44,736 adoring home fans in every game, filling in 98.6% of their stadium.

4) Manchester City

The home of the champions, and an impressive arena, Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium is in fourth place in the Premier League with average attendances of 45,546 for every home game, with those that do attend always sure to be treated to some of the finest football in the land, from some of the most expensive players too!

3) Newcastle United

A slightly surprising club in the top three, but Newcastle United still manage to bring in huge numbers of fans every week, with the Magpies boasting an average of 50,021 per match so far this season. Although Alan Pardew is another slightly unpopular manager, the locals love their football and continue to fill the ground with great noise in every game.

2) Arsenal

Right up in second place are Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium – the ground they moved to from Highbury back in 2006. Their old stadium was deemed too small for a club of their size, and there’s no doubt their new ground looks a worthwhile investment when they manage to bring in an average of 59,962 for every home game, filling in 99.4% of the stadium despite being known for charging some of the highest ticket prices in the country.

1) Manchester United

The biggest club stadium in England is an unsurprising entry at first place, with Manchester United’s Old Trafford bringing in an immense average of 75,339 fans in every home game. Although the club endured a nightmare campaign last term, they are still hugely popular and well followed by their loyal supporters, who will be hoping for a change in fortunes on the pitch soon under new manager Louis van Gaal.
