Five Players Who Should Never Play for Man United Again

A collection of players who really should not be part of Louis van Gaal’s Old Trafford plans.

Tom Cleverley

Loaned out to Aston Villa and is almost certainly never going to play for Man United again, a fact the England man has been good enough to admit publicly. The truth is that the 25 year old did, briefly, look like a very decent prospect, but turns out he doesn’t do a great deal. A move to Villa Park could help to get his career back on track but he won’t move to a side with major honour potential.

Marouane Fellaini

Yes he was played out of position by David Moyes, yes he is not to blame for the £27.5m fee Man United paid for his services, but he is to blame for his below par displays. The Belgian would surely have been on his way out over the summer but an injury prevented any chance of any other side being silly enough to buy the former Everton man before the transfer window slammed shut.

Anderson

Brazilian midfielder has taken the term ‘flattering to deceive’ to new levels and Man United fans must have thought they’d seen the last of the overweight Old Trafford bit-part player when he was loaned out to Fiorentina. Thing is, the Serie A side didn’t want him either. Anderson’s display against MK Dons should have been the last time he pulled on the Red Devils shirt, somehow he found himself coming on as a sub away at Burnley four days later…

Ashley Young

A winger who rarely provides an assist and scores once in a blue moon, what’s the point of the England man still being in Louis van Gaal’s squad? Oh, and factor in his incessant diving and I think we can be fairly certain that he’s a player Man United can do without.

Rafael

Brazilian full-back is simply too inconsistent to be considered a player Louis van Gaal should turn to, regardless of any injury crisis, and as such Man United should really have sold the wide-man over the summer. The 24 year old can no longer look to use youthful exuberance as an excuse for one to many over the top challenges or being woefully out of position on a regular basis.
