Here are the top ten according to FootballTop10s.

10) Rafael Marquez

Having stalled in his career over the last few years, making the massive step down from Catalan giants Barcelona to New York Red Bulls and Club Leon in his native Mexico, Marquez will be looking to show he still has what it takes after being snapped up by Verona in Serie A.

9) Alvaro Morata

At just 21-years-old Morata featured regularly for Real Madrid last season, but with the competition for places so fierce at the Bernabeu Ancelotti deemed Morata surplus to requirements. After his £17m move to Juventus he will be looking to show Los Blancos what they have missed out on.

8) Danny Welbeck

Danny Welbeck to Arsenal has been one of the most talked about transfers of the last few weeks, with feelings mixed over both his departure and arrival. With Louis van Gaal deeming him not good enough for Manchester United, the 23-year-old Englishman will want to show what he can do in Arsenal colours after his £16m move to the Emirates.

7) Alvaro Negredo

Whether Negredo wanted a move back to Spain or whether he was forced out to comply with Financial Fair Play is not totally clear, but having hit the Premier League like a whirlwind initially, he will want to have the same impact on his return to Spain.

6) Javier Hernandez

The second of Manchester United’s forward departures this summer, Hernandez secured what many would consider a dream loan move to Real Madrid. He may struggle to get game time at Madrid just as much as he did at United, but once he takes to the pitch he will want to show Ancelotti what he can do.

5) Xabi Alonso

A bit of a surprise transfer for many, but a very astute one from Guardiola. Given his style of play Alonso could easily have a couple more years at the top ahead of him, despite already being 33. He will want to make Bayern’s midfield his own, just like he did at Madrid.

4) Mario Balotelli

Always a controversial figure, Balotelli will be looking to forget his previous stint in England with Manchester City, and concentrate on moving forward with Liverpool. There has never been any doubt that he was one of the most talented young footballers around, but his attitude often leaves something to be desired.

3) Micah Richards

The powerful defender showed a lot of promise at youth level, but injury has hampered him greatly. He feels like he wasn’t really given a fair chance by Manuel Pellegrini, and will be hoping to show the Chilean what he can do with new side Fiorentina.

2) Shinji Kagawa

A player signed to Manchester United from Dortmund in the Ferguson era, there was great excitement over the transfer initially. He failed to really impress during his time at Old Trafford and has finally been let go by the ruthless Louis van Gaal. His return to Dortmund could signal a new lease of life for the Asian star, as he looked fantastic there during his last stint.

1) Fernando Torres

How did it all go so wrong for Fernando Torres at Chelsea? Nobody really knows. After his £50m record breaking move to the London club his form completely abandoned him, and he became one of the biggest flops in Premier League history. Despite being given countless chances for the Blues, Torres just couldn’t rediscover the brilliance that made him such a success at Liverpool. Now with a new team and a new league, perhaps we will see a new Torres. The Spaniard will be hoping to shine for Milan and show everyone why he was once considered one of the best strikers on the planet.
