9. Sergio Aguero (Man City)

When fully fit there isn’t a more deadly finisher though Man City have a tough group we expect the Argentine international to fire a few to help secure a spot in the knock-out stages.

8. Luis Suarez (Barcelona)

Will miss Barca’s first two Champions League fixtures but don’t bet against the Uruguayan making up for lost time, remember last season he missed the opening stage of the Premier League and still finished top of the goal-scoring pile.

7. Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

Not just a goal creator the Welshman is adept at firing in a goal or two to boot. Netted in last term’s Champions League final.

6. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG)

His side may not go all the way but if the Parc des Princes side do score it’s a safe bet the Swede’s responsible.

5. Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

The England man will look to get into gear at Champions League and Liverpool’s relatively easy group could be a good place to start.

4. Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

Scored Champions League goals for fun with Borussia Dortmund, 16 over the course of the past two campaigns, expect more of the same with Bayern Munich

3. Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

Argentine is always likely to feature highly in top-scorer lists and expect a hatful of goals against APOEL to start the ball rolling.

2. Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Former Atletico Madrid man has taken to life in the Premier League like a proverbial duck to water and is a feared finisher at Champions League level to.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

Bernabeu star set a record benchmark last term, 17, so don’t bet against the Portuguese international once again leading the way in Champions League action.
